The Institution was established under the devoted leadership of the righteous Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Linker, Shlita, a son of holy and distinguished lineage, named after the legendary Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, the beloved Advocate of the Jewish people. Rabbi Linker is cherished and embraced across all walks of Jewish life by men and women of every background who recognize in him a true and fervent love for every Jewish soul, and an unwavering commitment to their welfare, physical and spiritual alike, expressed through vast Torah wisdom and an extraordinary ability to bring every heart closer.
Nearly twenty years ago, the Rabbi led a kollel of dedicated scholars, fostering deep learning with warmth and spiritual fire, while delivering Torah classes that captivated all who attended. Even then, the flame within him was unmistakable, a burning desire to spread the light of Torah to every Jewish soul, and a pure, wholehearted love for every Jew, wherever they may be.
Driven by a heart perpetually ablaze with love for Am Israel, the Rabbi remained ever-sensitive to the unfolding needs of his people. It was precisely these needs, rising directly from the community, that propelled the steady growth of his work. Barditchov thus grew and flourished, evolving into something far greater, an encompassing address for thousands, spanning every dimension of Jewish life, physical, spiritual, and Torah. Today it stands as a beloved center to which multitudes turn for counsel, support, blessing, and assistance in every matter large and small.”

In addition, the honorable Rabbi devotes himself to Torah classes throughout Israel and the world, captivating classes suitable for every soul that make Torah learning accessible and sweet for every Jew.
The Rabbi also delivers brief and concise daily Halacha classes, and interesting weekly Torah portion classes every Friday that enable all Jews to arrive prepared for the holy Sabbath with knowledge and familiarity with the parasha.
Week after week, the organization distributes extraordinary quantities of food baskets to families blessed with many children, the elderly, the needy, and the lonely, those who carry their burdens quietly and in silence. For countless recipients, this support is not merely practical; it is an act of love that brings warmth, calm, and dignity into their homes, and for some, it is the embrace that keeps darkness at bay.
With the arrival of each holiday season, Or L’Yisrael rises to the occasion, combining professional logistics with genuine love, to distribute food baskets and festive essentials to thousands of needy families and individuals across the community, ensuring that every Jewish home can embrace the holiday in dignity, festivity, and calm.
The organization also operates a soup kitchen with hot, tasty, and nutritious meals for those who cannot achieve this on their own, thereby sustaining the lonely and destitute.
Another special kindness activity is a comprehensive GMACH for mourners established by order of the Rabbi, Shlita, which provides halachic and logistical assistance to families during their difficult time when there is a case of mourning in the family, including lending all necessary equipment and appropriate halachic guidance.
Significant efforts and resources are devoted to strengthening and supporting at-risk youth, helping to protect them from spiritual and emotional decline and from losing their connection to the Jewish people, G-d forbid. This work also extends to young men and women who, sadly, find themselves forming relationships outside the Jewish community. Through sincere care and a truly open heart, and with Hashem’s help, the organization is often privileged to guide them back to the embrace of Judaism and to help them rediscover its light and beauty.
The Rabbi opens both his heart and his door wide to every Jew. His office has become a sought-after center for personal meetings, drawing people from all walks of life who come to seek counsel, direction, and support at life’s crossroads, and to receive a blessing for whatever challenges they face.
As part of his mission of benefiting the broader community, the Rabbi frequently travels to the gravesites of righteous tzaddikim to offer prayers on behalf of all of Israel, carrying with him the heartfelt requests for tefillah entrusted to him.
In addition, the Rabbi travels throughout Israel and around the world, spreading light and love, Torah and Judaism, wherever he goes.

In order for this powerful and inspiring work to continue, grow, and to strengthen, to expand into new areas while further reinforcing the existing ones, we are pleased to share the vision of a new institutional building that will unite all of these activities under one roof. This center will house everything from a Beit Midrash for Torah study and classes to a soup kitchen, a food package distribution center, and all additional support and assistance services, including reception for personal meetings and guidance.
As part of this vision, and with Hashem’s help, the existing departments will continue to grow as well. At the direction of the Rabbi, Shlita, the plan includes building a dedicated floor for programs for at-risk youth, featuring welcoming recreational spaces, appropriate and enjoyable activities, and study rooms staffed by warm, devoted mentors who will work closely with the children under the Rabbi’s guidance.
